Junior Best of the Bunch: Poland

Poland first made an appearance at Junior Eurovision in the contest’s debut year of 2003. The nation participated in 2003, then again in 2004, however due to some average results, of which we will discuss today, the nation decided to take a break from Junior Eurovision. Turns out it ended up being quite a long break, with Poland returning 11 years later. They’ve only currently got 3 Junior Eurovision songs, but we still want to know which song would be your Junior Best of the Bunch!

We’re starting today with 2003, where Katarzyna Żurawik was selected to represent Poland with the song Coś mnie nosi. The song and performance was laid back, with the backing dancers synchronising with hip-hop moves, but Katarzyna belted out the notes when she needed to! Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best result for Poland on the debut year of the contest, with the nation finishing in last place with just 3 points.

The following year, Poland hoped to improve on their debut results with KWADro, the girl group with plenty of sass! The song they performed is called Łap życie, which was an upbeat pop number lending itself for plenty of harmonisation! Unfortunately, Poland found themselves at the bottom of the results table, however this time finishing in equal 17th (out of 18 acts) with a total of 3 points once again.

Poland then had a lengthy break from the contest, then returning in 2016. A national final was held to select their returning entry, and Olivia Wieczorek was the lucky participant! With two last places under their belts, it was time for Poland to shine, and Olivia performed her song Nie Zapomnij incredibly, and it led to an improvement of results, finishing in 11th place with 60 points – Poland’s best result – perhaps this will change in 2017?

Now we’ve recapped the Polish entries, it’s time to vote for your Junior Best of the Bunch!
